Kogi State Government to renovate GDSS, Takete Ide
The Kogi State Government has promised to immediately renovate the Government Day Secondary School, Takete Ide amidst an infrastructural deficit at the school. 

The school which was established in 1980 and which used to serve all the neighboring communities has become a shadow of its own. 

Determined to revamp the school and bring back its old glory, the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones stormed the school for an on the spot assessment, assuring the people of the community that the State Government will “commence immediate renovation work at the school”. 

He said: “What we saw there is unacceptable and since we have declared a state of emergency on education, we will commence immediate renovation of the school. 
“Governor Yahaya Bello has shown tremendous commitment to education, which is number one in his thematic areas. With education taking the lion share of our budget, the administration will continue to impact on educational infrastructure across the State”. 

Hon. Wemi Jones also assured the Takete Ide Traditional Council of his Ministry’s readiness to improve the Teaher-Students ratio in Kogi schools , saying the processes leading to the recruitment of new teachers have been concluded. 

In his reaction, the Olude of Ide, HRH Oba Philip Ebilakun thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for his love for Takete Ide, saying the renovation of the school will impact positively on the education of Takete Ide people.

In his reaction, the Secretary to Mopamuro LGA, Hon. Dele Eseyin said the community will remain eternally grateful to the Governor for bringing back the glory of the school. 

“I was the first Senior Prefect of the school in the glorious days. It has become something else over the years. But Governor Yahaya Bello has shown that location is not a condition for development”, he said.
