Faleke, Omofaiye, Tokunbo Olorundami, Others Honored As Ekinrin Adde Community Launches N200m Fund for Construction of Palace at Annual Day
The Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) has sent off a N200m store for the development of the royal residence and infrastructural improvement locally.
The starting was finished at the yearly Ekinrin Adde day which was held at the Baptist High School open field on June 25th, 2022.
At the event, the leadership of the Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association conferred awards of honor on some of the illustrious sons and daughters of the community for their penchant for contributing to the development of the community.
Speaking at the event, the National President of EACDA, Mr. Wilson Abiodun Tolorunleke stated that the community has evolved through communal help. He noted that Ekinrin Adde community is well known for executing legacy projects, which according to him, range from schools, health facilities, and upgrading of roads that have improved the well-being of the people.
Mr. Wilson added that the previous occasions, outsiders were invited to lend support to the community, saying, the 2022 Day, was essential for the sons and daughters to come together to contribute to the development of their communities.
He commended the citizens, who came from far and near to be identified with their father’s land, and urged those who could not physically attend, to continue to give their support to the community.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi advocated for defined roles for the traditional rulers in the Constitution of the country to ensure effective administration of their people.
Akinwumi noted that monarchs would be able to deal with the characters, aspirations, and challenges of their people if their roles are spelt out in the Constitution.
” The traditional rulers are the custodians of the culture and traditions of their people. They command both the tradition and divine powers of their ancestors. The people believe them as the representatives of their ancestors, hence, their words attract respect from the subjects.”
“If these powers are backed by the Constitution, most of the societal challenges facing the country will be solved”
” The Chiefs know everyone, both the indigenes and strangers in their domains, who are on a better standing to deal with different characters in the domain.
“Unfortunately, with their important roles in shaping the society, they lacked constitutional backing to execute their mandates”, he noted
The Chairman Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) UK branch, Deji Toba, urged all indigenes of Ekinrin Adde to be associated with the community in attracting development projects to the area.
In his remark, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde, HRM, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu Olajubu commended the people for their resilience in making the occasion a successful one.
He applauded the people for their efforts in executing and attracting developmental projects to the community. He appealed for collective aspiration in moving the community forward.
