GOV BELLO ATTENDS PAAU 6th CONVOCATION, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STATE EDUCATION SECTOR
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has reassured of his administration’s commitments to continually reposition the State’s education sector through new generation policies.
He stated this on Friday during the 6th Convocation Ceremony of the Prince Abubakar Audu University, formerly Kogi State University, Anyigba, where he was represented by his Deputy, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja.
Governor Bello was received in the guest as a visitor to the institution by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marietu Tenuche, and other enthusiastic staff and students of the state-owned varsity.
Remarking through his Deputy, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja, the Governor recounted the milestones of former Governor, Prince Abubakar Audu, stating that it was ideal to rename the institution after his lingering memories. He said the onslaught against cultism and other forms of anti-social conduct in the institution have been unwaivering, joined by sustained efforts to provide infrastructure needed for the accreditation of the School of Medicine in the institution.
”Talking of accreditation, I am sure you know this school is one of only 25 universities out of over 100 private and public universities in Nigeria to gain 100% accreditation for all courses offered towards the tail-end of last year. We will continue to do our best to position this institution among the creme de la creme of tertiary schools in Nigeria,” he assured.
He sutured that his administration was hands-in-glove-ready to guarantee a conducive learning environment for students in the school, to the extent of taking difficult decisions as the occasion may warrant, citing the uninterrupted academic calendar it has enjoyed in the last 5 years. 
He recalled his travails graduating from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University at the age of 23, charging the students to cultivate core learning with attributes which improve their chances for a happy and successful life such as character, industry, perseverance, excellence, entrepreneurship, amidst others.
