*CAMPUS TOUR: NANS KOGI STORM KOGI STATE UNIVERSITY ( KSU ) PASS A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON THE LEADERSHIP OF THE INSTITUTION
The National Association of Nigerian Students Kogi State axis under the Chairmanship of Comr. Olorunmagba Kehinde Oluwatallest, inline with her constitutional mandate visit Kogi State University now PRINCE AUDU ABUBAKAR UNIVERSITY in fulfillment of her lineup programs, Campus Tour *tagged ‘Building the Bridge Between Nigerian Students and the Government’.
The visit necessitate the action of interfacing with the Student leaders within the Institution, inspection of capital, welfare programs and projects under the leadership of the Institution that are directly beneficiary to the students and to further seek for more dividends of leadership of the Institution over the students.
Upon the visit, the leadership of NANS Kogi State clearly observed and appreciate the tremendous efforts of the management team ably led by the Vice Chancellor Prof.Tenuche Marietu Ohunene for paradigm shift in the affairs of the Institution.
In the course of the inspection by NANS Kogi state, the management has done excellently well in the area of curbing the insecurity on campus, by improving the security architecture of the Institution in safeguarding the life and properties of the students, Integrating private security organizations and joint effort of the management and the host community in prioritizing the interest of the students thereby leading to the reduction of high rate of Cult clash on campus. The security conciousness under the watch of Prof. Marietu tenuche shows the Nexus and supportive mandate between the present Government of the State ably led by his Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
The Renovation of dilapidated hostels, class rooms ,effective environmental sanitation shows the giant strides under the current leadership. Halt of extorting Students for NYSC mobilization, introduction of Digital certificate in curbing Falsification of certificate by Students, the magnanimous act of introducing an enterprenueral/ Skill acquisition center for the students and quick release of Students results via electronic means, are indication of responsible proactive and result oriented leadership in an academic environment.
Nevertheless, the need for 100% improvement on the transportation system of both the students and the leadership of the students (SUG) are key areas NANS Kogi State made a strong appeal to the management on behalf of the students as the area needs more attention and proactive measure of the management in enhancing the academic effort of the students.
In addendum, it should be noted that the focal objective of NANS is anchored on the Democratization of Education at all level by this ,we do not just mean Free Education which is not even so in concrete reality, but the improvement of the Educational sector of our Nation in terms of adequate funding in Education to the content that every Nigerian is well Educated (Not just the ability to read and write). Second is the relevance of such Education to receiving it while the third is the introduction and entrenchment of the most democratic culture in the schools.
