COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE,KABBA DIVISION OF AGRICULTURAL COLLEGES AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY WELCOME’s NEW MATRICULATED STUDENTS
The Provost Dr. (Mrs) Roseline Yemisi Olobatoke welcomed the Director, Division of Agriculture Colleges, the Deputy Director DAC, the Provost CAAS Mando- Kaduna, the Provost, Samaru College of Agriculture, the Secretary DAC, and other Principal Officers of DAC that were present at the 2020/2021 matriculation ceremony. In her speech, she said the event was quite significant as it marked the formal enrolment of the matriculating students into the college academic programmes, in line with the recommendations of the National Board For Technical Education.
Dr. (Mrs) Roseline Yemisi Olobatoke said that the College of Agriculture, Kabba is one of the three colleges of agriculture under the Division of Agricultural Colleges, Ahmadu Bello University. The college was established in 1962 under statute 16 of the Ahmadu Bello University Law, and since then the college has been producing middle-level manpower to meet the Agricultural needs of the country. In her words “It is worthy to note that our graduates are doing great in all works of life both at home and in the diaspora.”

She noted that all the programmes have been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Other programmes are certificates in Horticulture and poultry as well as the IJMB. The latter recorded over 80% success rate in the last conducted examination and we are confident that all successful students will gain admission into 200 levels in any University of their choice. Today the college is matriculating 53 students and 30 in the national diploma programmes, 18 in the higher national programmes and 5 in certificate courses.
She said that the college is glad that the students chose to study at College of Agriculture, Kabba with its serene environment, devoid of distractions and conducive for learning. Taking the matriculation oath signifies your formal admission into the college as a bonafide student. Therefore you are advised to be of good behaviour, make maximum use of this opportunity and dedicate the greater percentage of your time to study hard.
She advised the students not to engage in cultism, alcoholism, drug addiction, casual sex, fighting, indecent dressing and examination malpractice, all of which constitute misconduct and which the college management will not hesitate to deal decisively with.
She congratulated the matriculants for the privilege of being admitted into this great institution and appreciated all the staff of the college who has continued to provide the needed cooperation, dedication and support since her assumption of office as the provost of the college, she also thanked all the invited guests present at the occasion.
