Okun Unity Cup 2021 Will Foster Unity, Growth In OkunLand, Says Coordinator
Co-ordinator of Okun Unity Cup, a Grassroots Football Tournament, Ajagun Opeyemi Samuel has said that the football sporting will create opportunity for the growth, Unity and development of Okun Land, the Yoruba speaking part of Kogi State.
Ajagun in a statement on Monday said that the Unity Cup tournament stands as a platform that’ll boost the young talented footballers’ career and market them to the world where many of them will attract the attention of big national and international teams.
The Co-ordinator while commending the Local Organizing Secretary for a good job in organizing the competitions said that the tournaments witnessed huge success.
“Seeing how much progress and achievement we have made and the positive strides that have taken place through the Okun Unity Cup, I’m convinced that Okun people can be united through sport”
Ajagun however appealed to Okun leaders, organizations as well as individual for sponsorship, stating that this year’s edition will commence on October if the tournaments is well sponsored.
He further assured that all necessary support will be given to make this year competition a huge success because according to him, football is the only unifying forces that unite the youths.
