Following the directive of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello that the upsurge of Insecurity in Okun land be nipped in the bud, an emergency security meeting is currently ongoing in Kabba.
Those attending the meeting include the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, State security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Retired), Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones, Chairmen of the five Local Government Areas in Okun land, Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders as well as Community Development Associations.
The Meeting followed the Sunday attack on ECWA Church Okedayo along Kabba-Okene.
Last Monday, yet to be identified gunmen attacked the Federal Minimum Correctional Centre Kabba.
The State Security Adviser, Retired Commander Jerry Omodara who represented Governor Yahaya Bello at the meeting said Government is worried about the upsurge of Insecurity in Okun land, hence the gathering.
According to him, the meeting was to engage relevant stakeholders in fighting increased activities of Criminals in the Area
