Combatant Tolulope Arotile, gone but not forgotten

The Security Adviser to Kogi state government, Commander Jerry Omodara today at the one year remember service in honour of Arotile who was Nigeria’s first-ever Combat Helicopter Pilot, who died exactly one year ago in an accident in Kaduna said that though the late officer is gone, she can never be forgotten.
He also described the death of Tolulope as a great loss to every patriotic Nigerian.
Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile was the first female combat Helicopter Pilot in the history of the Nigerian Airforce.
“We are devastated by her tragic death” he said.
He also described Late Tolulope Arotile as a young promising lady, whose tragic death can not be forgotten so quickly.
Omodara said that it is often stated that ‘time heals all wounds, but he would not agree because the wounds of Tolulope’s death remain fresh.
“In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.” he said.
Quoting from Author Robert Louis Stevenson, he said . “Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in time of sorrow.”
He prayed that God will continue to uphold the family and fill the vaccum her death must have created in the family.
