MINISTRY OF FINANCE, BUDGET AND ECONOMIC PLANNING 2022 BUDGET CASHFLOW FORECASTING MEETING WITH MDA’s
The 2022 budget formulation process has commenced with the budget cash flow plan meeting with various stakeholders in lokoja
The state commissioner for Finance Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Idris in his opening remark said the purpose of the meeting is to discuss how revenue sources in the state can be harnessed and also, to ascertain what is available for the year financial plan.
The commissioner however stated that the involvement of stakeholders and the Civil Society Organisation(CSOs) in the budget formulation process will ensure the credibility of the budget
Hon. Idris who said the resolutions from the meeting will automatically inform the data presentation in the development of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework( MTEF) and the Medium Term Sector Strategy ( MTSS), said budget envelops will be generated and distributed to MDA’s accordingly.
He said the meeting has however become necessary because the Ministry has met with the revenue agencies and the budget cash flow has been reviewed.
While calling on the key spending ministries which include, the ministries of health, education, Agriculture and works for their support in the budget formulation process, the commissioner said it will make the job easier as well as other ministries which will help avoid hitches in preparing the budget.
The commissioner maintained that the 2022 budget will focus more on the completion of projects scattered across the state while new projects will be minimal due to the lack of funds and the state of the economy which was adversely affected by the covid 19 pandemic.
Calling on MDA’s to adhere strictly to their budget ceiling for the year 2022, Hon. Idris said the strategic revenue growth initiative of the government must work

Aderonke Aro, Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic planning; Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA, Commissioner for Agriculture; Hon Apeh, Commissioner for Education, Science and technology; Hon Wemi Jones, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Hon Salifu Idachaba, Commissioner for commerce and industry; Hon Gabriel Olofu
We also have many participants from the MDA’s including Kogi State internal Revenue Services, Kogi state Assembly service commission, Judiciary service commission etc
