2023 Presidency: Group Canvasses Support for Governor Yahaya Bello, Tips Kolawole for House of Reps
Ahead of the 2023 political dispensation in Nigeria some concern members of the All Progressive Congress in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency has joined other well meaning Nigerians especially youth groups to ask Governor Yahaya Bello to declare his intention to contest for the highest office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This was disclosed yesterday in Lokoja when the group named Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Progressive Forum held meeting with the Kogi State House of Assembly, Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole on their mission to join forces with other groups already calling on Governor Yahaya Bello to contest for the President.
Olusegun Felix from Ijumu Local Government Area who spoke at the meeting said the demand for Governor Yahaya Bello to contest for the highest office in the country is for him to replicate what he is doing in Kogi State in the area security, infrastructures development, and his unification policy for the people of Nigeria etc.
While Mr. Adekunle Olowonihi and Chief Amos Olumi who spoke on behalf of Kabba/Bunu said Nigeria need the leadership acumen of Governor Yahaya Bello to move the country out of the security challenges currently bedeviling the nation.
The group also asked Mr. Matthew Kolawole to contest for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency seat at the Federal House of Representatives, noting that as the Governor is moving to Aso Rock come 2023; it will also be good for the speaker to be at the green chamber.
Many of them, who spoke during the meeting, said the demand for Kolawole to represent the Federal Constituency is for him to replicate the quality representation Kabba/Bunu is currently enjoying to the entire federal constituency. 
They said the called was base on their conviction for the capacity shown and achievements of Mr. Matthew Kolawole in Kabba/Bunu Constituency and as the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly; some of his achievements include the massive Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme which has 155 and 200 beneficiaries in its respective phases. 
The Market Women Empowerment Scheme, Widow Empowerment Scheme Quiz and Sports Competitions, Education Supports Scheme, completion of Ayede, Olle communities electrification project, the ongoing construction of two cottage hospital in the two districts aside his leadership sagacity that has repositioned the State House of Assembly among comity of State Assemblies in the country.
The Speaker while responding to the group appreciated them for supporting the calls for Governor Yahaya Bello to contest for the position of the President, stressing that with their maximum support the project is achievable come 2023. 
He said it will do the country a lot of good especially the younger generation to rally round Alhaji Yahaya Bello in his quest to lead the country to another level of greatness, noting that he has the capacity, courage and commitment to surmount various challenges confronting the nation lately. 
While on his own ambition, he pleaded with them to be patient, pointing out that he need to consult widely, especially with God and his leader, Gov. Yahaya Bello and other stakeholders in the constituency before knowing the next step of action.
While giving the vote of thanks, the Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Hon. Sunday Ojo, appreciated the group and assured them that the Speaker will never disappoint them.
