SSA, Youths Empowerment Visits Obaro, Olujumu, Taufiq On Familiarization Tour
KogiOnlineNg reports that on Wednesday, the recently appointed Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Yahaya Bello on Youths Empowerment (Kogi West), Hon. Abubakar Amodu, continues on his familiarization visits to major stakeholders in Kogi West and Kogi State to enhance the delivery of his office.
The familiarization visit according to Hon. Amodu is to introduce himself and office to all Chairmen and Traditional Rulers that makes up the Kogi West Senatorial District. He added that his office has developed strategies to key into the thematic area of Agriculture of the State and Federal Governments to empower Kogi West youths.
Recall that after the announcement of his appointment, after appreciating Governor Yahaya Bello, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku and Hon. Victor Omofaiye alongside other stakeholders for his appointment, he paid familiarization visit to the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Idris Musa; Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. David Abeg; Managing Director, Kogi Enterprise Development Agency, Hajiya Rekiya Onaivo Sanni; and Chief Dr. Femi Ajisafe.
The Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dele Owoniyi, while receiving the SSA in appreciation, welcome the initiative of deciding to empower youths via the Agricultural Sector, he however expressed reservations concerning the laziness of the youths of the community to participate in agriculture ventures.
He went further to advice that a pilot scheme to train youths on various agricultural ventures be introduced, in order to have a successful youths empowerment.
The Olujumu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ayeni Williams while receiving the SSA said having a youth like him is a welcome development. He however advised Hon. Amodu to make his office useful to orientate, sensitize and re-orientate Kogi West youth on the importance of taking advantage of such youths empowerment.
He stressed on the fact that youths must learn hard work and perseverance before making money.
Olujumu also asked the youths of the community not to result to violence with the eventuality of farm rustlers to avoid bloodshed, he advised that they should take records and evidence of any form of farm destructions and report to appropriate quarters.
The Chairman, Ijumu Local Government Area congratulated Hon. Amodu, described his appointment as a well deserved one, added that it is due to his perseverance and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Taufiq assured him that his office as Ijumu Local Government Chief Executive officer will dispense all assistance needed to his office for greater success.
The Royal Fathers and Hon. Taufiq, prayed for the SSA, asked for God’s wisdom on his behalf to excel in his new office.
Hon. Amodu appreciated them all for receiving, assuring them that with God and their support, he will not disappoint the people of Kogi West.
