Mrs. JAGBORO : THE POTENTIAL DEVELOPER
A seasoned retired administrator, opined that Nigeria has been putting a square peg in a square hole since 1960, but lack efficient progress and desired development at Stride’s, hence the need to Change the tide ” put a square peg in a square round hole”
I will not like to bother you with so much story, rather go straight to the point, KOGI STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (T), KABBA was established with so many potentials, past and previous Heads of the institution have in no small measure put in their best, but Mrs. JAGBORO OLUSOLA VICTORIA has surpassed everybody imagination, she has performed beyond expectations.
I am going to give empirical data of how the current provost, Mrs. JAGBORO OLUSOLA has harnessed the untapped potentials at the college and give them a complete turn around inter Alia
1 At inception, the college is a glorified secondary school, but now with most of the Academic staff posing first degree, but now mama has a success story, the number of Academic staff that has gone and comes back from further studies both internationally and nationally has changed the academic process of the college, thus positioning the college in a good status among other colleges of education in Nigeria.
2 As if that is not enough, with her magic hand, by establishing expensive fish ponds, earth ponds, concrete ponds, and plastic ponds to accommodate various processes of fish farming from hatch to rearing and into a consumable level. All these processes are done within the agriculture education department of the college which is fully accredited.
3 In the school of technical education which has five different departments namely;
1 Automobile technology
2 Building technology
3 Metal technology
4 Woodwork technology
5 Electrical – Electronic technology
The automobile technology, through mama’s Goodwill and the quest for development, mobilized finds to the development which made it possible for the department to construct and manufactured “KEKE TECHNICAL” from scratch as I speak now the keke is 100% completed, and the college has the capacity to manufacture for any interested individual, group of people I.e at commercial level.
Not resting on her oar’s in agricultural aspect, The provost also mobilized fund, with her never say die attitude to establish a bee hire for the college. The originality of the honey been produced at the college from the artificial bee hire is second to none. All these are verifiable.
4 The provost, who believes so much in God of possibility and with the high level of support and cooperation she received from His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello (GYB2PYB) borrowed a leaf from the Nigeria telecommunications giant, “data is life” Data is oxygen, everywhere you go in the college premises, free WiFi is accessible.
The zeal to developed potentials prompted the provost to digitalized the Admission process in the college, as we speak now prospective candidates wishing to apply to the college can do so by visiting the college site www.kscoetechkabba.edu.ng and apply for admission from anywhere in the world, students and Academic staff have access to e-learning, pay school fees online, check result online, and do virtually everything on the college website. All these are made possible by Mrs. JAGBORO OLUSOLA doggedness.
6 Understanding the plight of prospective JAMB candidates, she took it upon herself to establish the best CBT center H.E Hajiya Rashidat Yahaya Bello to ameliorate the suffering of candidates from Okun land.
7 The joy of every school is to conduct hitch-free examination for students after successful study, the college examination unit can boost of the best direct image sharp printing machine which makes examination paper printing seamless.
8 To increase the miracle of non-academic staff, study leave are been granted to interested staff to increase their level of productivity.
In the final analysis, Mrs. JAGBORO OLUSOLA VICTORIA has been able, over the past few years, to develop various potentials at the college to an enviable height.
