Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello on Sunday inaugurates the Jama’atu Nasril Islam Secretariat Mosque/Hall along Barracks Road, Lokoja, Kogi State.
The chairman of the JIN, Kogi State Chapter, Ambassador Usman Bello commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his immense contribution to the building of the mosque. Ambassador Bello noted that the governor has been of tremendous support to JIN and to all religious bodies in kogi state while praying to Almighty Allah to continue to grant the governor good health and more wisdom. Ambassador Bello also thanked the governor for his effort in ensuring peace and security in kogi state adding that his effort requires the support of every citizen to sustain the peace and security the state is currently enjoying. To the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Governor Yahaya Bello is in a class of a transformational leaders who transform their followership into becoming leaders too.
His Eminence Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto who was represented at the occasion said the kind of religious tolerance that is being practiced in Kogi state was worthy of emulation noting that if people were to respect each other’s believe the way it is being practiced in Kogi, there will be peace across Nigeria. He commended the governor for embracing everybody irrespective of religion and tribes.
He thanked the governor for his peace initiative through the INTER-religious Council where all religious leaders interface to strengthen the bond amongst themselves.
In his response, the governor commended the effort of the JNI for the execution of the project. He stressed that the people must continue to leave in peace with one another by embracing each other.
Based on his effort to unite the people of Kogi State together and his contribution to the development of various religion bodies in Kogi and the guarantee of peace and security of the state, the governor was conferred with an award of Excellence by the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Kogi State Chapter.
