In a media briefing on the Abia State Executive Council Meeting held on Monday, the state Commissioner for Information, Chief John Kalu, said the council also directed Ezem, who is also the Chairman, Abia State Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19, to make the report public.
He said the meeting, which was chaired by Governor Okezie Ikeazu, reviewed issues on security, peace and development of the state and also directed the state Ministry of Environment and the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency to review its waste management strategy with a “view to ensuring visible and appreciable improvement in the area of disposal and collection of refuse”.
Kalu added, “The executive council directed the setting up of a committee through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government to check employment racketeering in the state, with the Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor, Sir Don Ubani, as Chairman.”
