The Lagos State Ndigbo Youth in APC sent appreciation to the Government and Leaders of Lagos State over their Progressives gesture in accommodating the Ndigbo in the state.
The Ndigbo State Youth, a socio-political and cultural youth group in Lagos under the leadership of Mazi Comrade Leonard Ike Obasi JP aka Baba Leo, has sent their heart-warm appreciation to the government and the leadership of Lagos State.
In a statement released to journalist on August 17, 2020, by the State youth leader Mazi Comrade Leonard Ike Obasi acknowledge the fact that the opportunities given to the Ndigbo’s in Lagos State is a privilege and not a right, he appreciated the government and leadership of the All Progressive Congress for the involvement of Igbo’s in all levels of governance and promised that the group will always stand by the party politically and socio activities.
His statements goes “let my people know that whatever opportunities given to the Ndibo’s here in Lagos is a Privilege and not a Right, and for the progressive nature of Lagos State political trend since the inception of the 3rd Republic, our people have received a warmed hospitality that has made most of the igbo’s brothers and sister to grow politically and understand some dynamics nature of Nigeria politics.
We have so much involved in the transition of governance from every levels of the party dynamism in time past, let me also set the records straight, that we have been given several opportunities to have elected Councillors and Vice Chairmen of different local governments in Lagos State who are of Igbo extractions.
I must also bring to the public notice that the Ndigbo’s has over 300 Head teachers both in the primaries and secondary schools levels in Lagos State, we have produced a two term serving Commissioner Hon. Ben Akabuweze who was later promoted to the federal level, it is no doubt that the Igbo’s has a representatives in person of Hon. Joe Ibokwe who is presently serving as Special Advisers to our amiable and workaholic governor, His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also in the legislative and judiciary sector, the state has given our brothers and sisters opportunities to showcase their brilliancy in lawmaking and law execution, all these people are of igbo extraction, it will be a sign of ingratitude if we the Ndigbo’s refused to show our appreciation to the government and leadership of Lagos State because Lagos has done what no state in Nigeria has ever done across south west and Northern part of the country.
During Covid-19 Palliative, our amiable leaders were remembered, the ndigbo’s benefited from the robust materials sent by the state government under the leadership of Governor Babajide sanwo olu and the State Party Chairman Hon.Tunde Balogun.
We were not also left out of the Sallah celebration cushion despite most of our brothers are christian, we were given what is due to us. These shows that our leaders in APC are extremely grateful with our present without marginalization and as such we promised to come together and steer the party en-mass in our doubled numbers in subsequent elections ahead.
On behalf of the good people and the great youths of Ndigbo APC in Lagos we say a Big Thank you, mostly for the conflict resolution of the two Ndigbo leaders in Lagos Hon Jude Idimogu and Hon Joe Igbokwe, This is a sign that our leaders are watching and also believe in us, we promised to come together and give our total support to the party even beyond the state…
