In few time at the office in acting capacity, Dr S.O Usman has changed the face of my alma-mata, my citadel of learning and the institution that made me what’s my name today, The Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
Unknown to him, i took a visit to the polytechnic’s main campus in Lokoja to see a friend who is a staff to know if things has been improve as he take charged but to my surprise, the facelift i saw is a great preamble of the numerous ideas and innovation loaded in this man.
My first notice was the security house been shifted to the gate of the school, if you are familiar with this institution, you will reconnect vividly that the said security’s house hared same building with the main old admission units block, so at the entering point of the school the new security’s house ( a building ) is about 60% completion as to my lay man’s knowledge, this still opened my mind down to greater achievement of his tenure at the end of his stayed in noticing this nagging problem of the school.
Secondly, is the full automation of the institution’s administration as to no paper, paper and paper stuff again, a gigantic mask has been installed for sound and uninterrupted operations this automation system is locked for at the education portal’s building withing the school’s premises, this innovation will engaged, train and give support to the staff on the automation, this is not common with our citadel of learnings in Nigeria recently, this is commendable.
Thirdly, is the recently upgraded of a unit known as CENTER FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT to a full Directorate of the polytechnic, this Directorate will serve a cardinal mark in awarding National Diploma’s Certificate ( ND ) and that of the Higher National Diploma ( HND ) too, only few of this kind of institution runs this currently in Nigeria today, this is also commendable.
And again, my attention was on the security staffers as they where nicely dressed and kit up compared to my days in this school.
Could this be another Professor Mathew Idowu Ajibero’s administration of my time again ??? Let’s see how the energetic, young and innovative Dr. Ogbo will be seriously, Because in history M. I Ajibero turned kogi state polytechnic from a gloryfied secondary school to a standard and highly rated polytechnic in Nigeria at his exist point.
Dr Usman Ogbo is the acting Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja appointed recently by the visitor of the school, Alhaji Yahaya Olorunjuwonlo Bello, the Executive Governor of kogi state.
This preamble is a good direction and i prayed he succeed and perform beyond expectations, though his antecedents shows great he will do.
