Omidan Oge Distributes Palliatives And Sensitizes The Vulnerable Ones In Okun Land

Ever since Nigeria recorded it’s index case of the deadly corona virus otherwise known as Covid-19, and the negative impact the pandemic is having on the economy, especially as a result of the national lockdown that was only recently relaxed by the Presidential Tax Force on Covid-19, it is a known fact that government and some of it’s officials have since embarked on distribution of palliatives and other stimulus packages to it’s citizens.

The organized private sector through the Campaign Against Covid-19 (CACOVID) is also playing it’s part to give back to the society. Religious houses, non governmental organizations, philanthropists and private persons are also following suit.

One of whom is the winner of the 2019 Omidan Oge pageant, Omidan Abubakar Khadijat Titilope. On Saturday 6th June 2020, she and her “Community Give Back and My People My Care” team hit the streets of Kabba and Aiyegunle Gbede in the West Senatorial District of Kogi State. Her mission was to visit the Aiyegunle Ohon Gbede General Market, Cottage Hospital Aiyegunle Ohon Gbede and the General Hospital Kabba, with the aim of giving palliatives as her stimulus package to the vulnerable ones.

Omidan Khadijat said the 

act of all voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of palliatives, to those in need at this critical moment is very important hence she needed to contribute her quota to the society. She revealed that the Community Give Back is one of her pet projects since she emerged Omidan Oge in 2019.

While she commended government for how well she has stood up against the virus, she urged government to intensify her effort in combating the spread of the pandemic, she also encouraged her people especially the beneficiaries of the relieve food items and essentials to play their own part, according to the WHO guidelines to help government and other relevant stakeholders curtail the spread of the virus. Expressing excitement that her act of reaching out to the less privileged in this form is something she is passionate about, she however noted that she alone can not reach out to everyone, thereby calling on government, private sector and well wishers to step up the scope of distribution of various stimulus packages and palliatives.

Omidan Khadijat sincerely thanked Yeye Omoleye Aiyelabowo for initiating the Omidan Oge platform which is now giving herself, colleagues and her team to impact other lives. She appreciated
