The leadership and members of the Female Network of NGOs ( FENGO) has condemned the evil act carried out by a gang of unscrupulous rapists.
In a statement made by the president, Ms Okhai Victoria, she mentioned that *rape is not only a crime against the victim but also a crime to womanhood; rape coupled with murder is not just a crime against womanhood but a crime to humanity* and as such justice must be served and the perpetrators shall be brought to book.
We are currently working with the International Federation of Female lawyers(FIDA,Edo) and other NGOs to help look into the issue and swing into swift action.
She also added that Every woman should be allowed to fulfil her Dreams and must by all means be protected against any form of vulnerability. We are by this, charging all security Agencies in the state to be uptight in performing their duties- which is to protect the lives and properties of the citizens.
We are also calling upon members of the public to assist with providing any useful information that will aid the quick resolution of this matter.
Our heartfelt condolences goes to the family of Late Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa. May God grant you the fortitude to bear the loss.
