Governor Yahaya Bello has refused to adopt ‘copy and paste strategy’ in curtailing the noble coronavirus spread in Kogi state. GYB is implementing strategies that suit his people without compromising WHO and NCDC protocols. Mischievous elements were laughing at their own ignorance when GYB announced introduction of *COVID-19 High Risk Assessment App* but other states have embraced innovation NOW.
GYB closed schools, worship centres and banned social gathering as well as restrict inter state travelers by diverting them to highways to prevent importation of COVID-19 but refuses to join bandwagon by declaring lockdown. The Director General, Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control preaching strict adherence to WHO guidelines of isolation people from high risk areas but his officials flee when GYB insisted on isolating them for 14 days breaching NCDC protocols.
The latest music in town is the repatriation of Almajiris from northern states to their State of Origin. Its sound good right but does not make sense in this critical period. Wailers should ask why governors that used Almajiris for elections are not ready to test for COVID-19 before moving them to their state of origin.
GYB has shown high level of commitment to curtail COVID-19 spread without inflicting unnecessary pains on Kogites who have been observing precautionary measures. Wailers are born to wail and the divine assignment for GYB is to move Kogi to greater heights. GYB remains focused, strategic and calculative, hence no amount of market noise will stop him from fulfilling the divine mandate.
