Hon Oshaloto Tade, the senior special assistant’s to the executive governor of Kogi state on security matters in charge of Yagba west local government inaugurates a 7-member committee on assets recovery, rehabilitation and security headed by Dr Tunde Arosanyin
The terms of reference of the committee is to carry out their duty within a time framework of seven working days to present its report and recommendations
Below are the terms of reference for their operation
1 a. Determining the number of earth moving equipments owned by Yagba west local government
b. Determine the locations of each and all of the earth moving assets and tractors
c. Identify the assets of the local government
d. Determine the serviceability or other wise of these assets
e. Advise on how to repatriate these equipment at the cost of whoever took them out and not the local government
f. Determine how much is being owed to the local government (Calculated by the number of days that they have been hired out)
2 REPAIRS
a. Advise on how to get experts to asses the extents of damage and cost of repairs
b. Advise on how to source for required funds
3 FURTHER REQUIREMENTS
a. Committee is required to invite expert technicians to asses the equipment
b. Present quotations for rehabilitation of the local government earth moving and tractors
c. As a mark of loyalty to the land, committee is also required to make a good deal with the engineers such that the local government are not shortchanged
The repairs must have a guarantee of reasonable time
d. Committee to advise on how to utilize rehabilitated equipment such that they are able to
Offset the cost of their repairs maintain themselves in good time and constitute a financial burden to the local government
The committee are to also proffer possible workable recommendations on how to fix the assets that requires rehabilitations
Oshaloto Tade declared that the committee though not to witch-hunt anybody but is expected to employ every legal means possible to recover assets of the local government wherever it may be
The assets of the local government is our common patrimony and heritage that must be preserved, maintained and protected from exploitation
