No matter the section of the contemporary society you belong or finds yourself,the innate value and content such person carries will attract great exploitation from those who recognize capacity. Summarily, better no fit hide from those who sabi better thing.
MAAI matches a perfect description of better no fit hide. He’s a different person to different shades of people. To some who had crossed his path, convincingly attest to his incredible capacity, alluring character and humane spirit. And for many who got attracted to his personality from afar, spoke eloquently of his gentle and calm demeanor. Perhaps, those who has not seen but heard about his giant strides in human capacity and community development can not but wish to meet such a good model of leadership.
MAAI’s administrative prowess and political sagacity gains momentum of productivity and positive results on the tripartite planks of impeccable character, deep intellectual strenght and Inspirational disposition to carry his people along. He knows his onions and he deployed same progressively for humanity. He had left every offices occupied in past better than he met it. His imprint in the Ministry of Finance in the first term is indelible in terms of strategic reforms engendered and proactiveness showed in putting the state on a vantage positioning for benefits from FG and international donors.Raising the bar and shattering the ceiling glass speaks much of his goal getting penchant.
Am not saying he’s perfect or Infallible. NO! In fact, its In humility he accept his mistakes and takes the appropriate path to right the wrongs. In his fallibility,he never fails to keep the Omoluabi virtues intact and high flying. MAAI is a lover of peace and an advocate of harmonious relationship regardless.
Again, I make bold to say “Better no fit hide” when it comes to the person of MAAI.
The youthful and useful Governor of the confluence state,HE Yahaya Adoza Bello in his wisdom was the first to unravel the “better no fit hide” by employing the services of Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris in his quest to translate his vision and mission for the development of the state. MAAI’s pedigree of hardwork,capacity and Integrity as a banker forms the attraction cum choice by GYB and never his political clout nor God father. Even against the wishes of naysayers,he was not only reappointed as a second term commissioner,his Ministry was doubled, which invariably means the values he carries triumph over the politics those against him want to play. Truly ,better no dey hide!
At the National pedestal under the aegis of Forum of Finance commissioners in Nigeria, MAAI was a notable factor to reckon with among his colleagues, also given a place of honour in the respected forum. Better did not also hide at all when it was time to fill in the chairmanship vacuum of the Forum when the erstwhile occupant tenure elapsed. It was needless to search further,but inwardly, a unanimous decision was reached by members on the choice of MAAI to lead the forum. The convincing factor was not borne out of political maneuvering nor network,rather it’s his proven records of proactiveness and promptness in getting FG benefit to Kogi state, capacity to represent their interests as a forum and competence to deliver on the mandate as chairman. They trusted and believed in him to lead them, he did not choose or force himself as many will want to do. Crystal clear, wherever you go “Better no dey hide” when great values are in demand.
Our revered traditional and Socio-cultural institutions are also not oblivious of traits that deserves honour and respect because it shines brighter like a shining star. Beyond the temptation of condemning some traditional institutions because of the dubious activities of proliferating titles, with due diligence done, MAAI was deservingly singled out for titles from reputable palaces and genuinely royal kings. They saw his unfeigned Omoluabi virtues,especially as a public office holder, his total dedication to community development and the unclad love and respect he has shown to the traditional fraternity- All these forms the bases upon which MAAI becomes the toast of the royal houses. Today he’s the Aare Afiwagboye of Isanlu land, The Bobagunwa of Orokere Amuro in Mopa Land, Gbeobaniyi of Ejuku Kingdom. Furthermore, Socio-cultural groups like Ebira people’s Assembly (EPA),lokoja chapter and Akomolede Yoruba, Kogi state chapter also saw the “Better that can not be hidden” in MAAI with a prestigious award/title to show commendation. In the characteristics ideological stand of MAAI, many letters of request for titles and awards were rejected because they failed to pass the test of ethical inclination.
Just recently, after looking left, right and centre for a capable hand, the association of kogi state commissioners unanimously endorsed the chairmanship of MAAI as he leads the association for the next 4 years insha Allah.This didn’t just come as a norm, the onerous voice at which his colleague commissioners spoke speaks volume of his intrinsic leadership sytle and sterling qualities. They believed in his transformational leadership. They know he’s honest and inclined with ethical standards expected of a leader. They can vouch for his capacity and competence to chart an innovative cum progressive strides as an association. They know his commitment and devotion to whatever he believes in can’t be displaced. Evidently, his choice is devoid of stiff contest expected of such exalted position neither is it a walk in the park, but rather its a demostration that people with treasured value can’t be hidden,they shine glowingly like a star.
In the light of the above, it’s clear that emerging leaders can have a grasp of critical lessons from MAAI’s life, which points to the fact that, investment in improving innate values, content and virtues is extremely important,as it will always be a distinguishing factor when capacity is in demand.
Not surprised, MAAI is always called upon to offer ingenious leadership wherever he finds himself because he posses the characteristics feature of a True Leader.
