COVID-19 : KOGI NYCN CHAIRMAN COMMENDS  ENFORCEMENT OF “SIT AT HOME DIRECTIVES” IN KOGI STATE.. SALUTES THE COMMITMENTS OF THE. COVID-19 SQUADRON COMMITTEE AND CHARGES CITIZENS TO BE COOPERATIVE
The Kogi State Chapter Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria-NYCN, Comrade Israel Femi Alonge, has commended the efforts of the Kogi State Government in the enforcement of “Sit At Home” directives in the State. 
The Chairman who rolled out the commendations through his Chief Press Secretary Jacob Abraham, said the enforcement has gone a long way in ensuring that the precautionary measures against Corona Virus are implemented to its fullest. 

“The total enforcement of the Operation ” sit at home” is obviously helping us maintain the social distancing which is one of the major measures mapped out to help us counter the alarming increase of the dreadful and human unfriendly Corona Virus”. 
Within the last few days upon the inauguration of the Kogi State Covid-19 Squadron Committee ably led by the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja, it has become obvious that the committee is working round the clock inline with the goals of the state to take precautionary measures against Corona Virus and its undesirous spread in the state. 
“The Committee under the Chairmanship of His Excellency Edward Onoja has taken the bull by its horn by ensuring that all precautionary measures are mapped out to give victorious attack on the Epidemic bedeviling the World in its entirety”. This committee deserves to be commended for a job well done. The commitment coming from this committee is laudable. 

The Chairman who never forgot giving special kudos to the media for playing crucial roles in educating the general public on the need for sensitization, gave  pass mark to the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Kingsley Femi Fanwo for ensuring that the media stays up alert to  keep the people informed on the daily developments especially on updates from the Squadron Committee. 
Also noteworthy to mention is the Honorable Commissioner for Health Dr. Saka Haruna who has always ensured the health ministry is not lagging behind in terms of providing necessary health information, materials and necessary guidelines needed to sensitize the general public on this Corona Virus. 
Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), who is also the State Security Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, deserves to be commended for ensuring security measures are put in place especially in areas where they are needed. 
Consequent upon the need for all hands to be in deck in fighting against this dreaded virus that posses threat to human lives, Comrade Alonge is therefore calling on all citizens to cooperate with the State government through the State Covid-19 Squadron Committee and the NCDC Kogi State Chapter. This cooperation can be exhibited by abiding by every single directives issued by the State through these organs. 

Also, on behalf of the council, the Chairman appreciates His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello for concluded efforts  towards the distribution of over $1million dollars worth of medical materials and equipments. These equipments are to be distributed to the State through the medical department in the State as a way of supporting the fight against the spread of Corona Virus. 
“This is not only commendable, it further shows the readiness of the State Government under Governor Yahaya Bello to stand in firm defence of  citizens against Corona Virus. This gestures is a further evidence that the healthy well-being of every citizen in the State is of great importance”. 
We are confident that these materials will get to the appropriate quarters since it will be handed over to the State Covid-19 Squadron Committee and the NCDC. Hence, we enjoin individuals and cooperate organizations to join hands with the State to provide necessary succours needed to fight against this virus knowing fully well that operation “Sit at home” has been fully enforced in the State. 
Increased sensitization exercises can not be said to be too much especially in a time like this. Therefore, volunteers and Non Governmental Organizations are encouraged to take it upon themselves to join hands with the State to fight against Corona Virus.
