In line with the objectives and ideals of the recently launched Olajumoke Oloruntoba Foundation for Widows and Orphans, Hon. Kehinde Oloruntoba decided to commence work immediately by kickstarting the initiative in Akutupa and Aiyetoro Kiri wards of Kabba/Bunu Local Govt area of Kogi State.
He doled out the sum of N5000 to each of the beneficiary widows as their monthly stipends and allowances going forward to help cushion the current economic hardship being faced by the widows.
There were 34 beneficiaries with two widows each selected per polling units.
The beneficiaries in accepting the largesse were grateful to the initiator of the Olajumoke Oloruntoba Foundation, Hon. Oloruntoba Kehinde for this noble gesture. They praised his vision and are happy that he has kept the ideals and principles for which Mama Olajumoke had lived for the better part of her life. The beneficiaries were appreciative also that one of their scions has decided to give back to the community that begat him which goes to show that all hope is not lost for them. This gesture to them is timely, in good faith and has giving hope to the hopeless amongst them
The stipend according to the Widows is a seed fund that will take them from their precarious economic state and give their lives a new meaning. They showered praises on the initiator and prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon Hon. Kehinde Oloruntoba.
The initiative is a continuous exercise that will resonate all over the crannies of the state as well as the nation.gbams.blogspot.com
